Eligibility
Be a passport holder and permanent resident of Ghana. Hold an undergraduate degree, be motivated and have an interest in the proposed subject area. Meet the English language requirement of the UK higher education institution. Willing to engage with the UK as a scholar, attend a GREAT scholars networking event, maintain contact with the British Council and your HEI, act as an ambassador, and occasionally speak to future candidates as an alumnus.
£10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year taught postgraduate course in 2026-27 at participating UK universities, for students from Ghana.
GREAT Scholarships offer students from Ghana the opportunity to receive £10,000 towards their tuition fees for a wide range of one-year taught postgraduate courses in the 2026-27 academic year at universities across the UK. For the 2026-27 academic year, postgraduate scholarships are available to students from Ghana at the following institutions — visit each university's page for the courses on offer and how to apply: • Anglia Ruskin University — one of the largest modern universities in the east of England. • Birmingham Newman University — high-quality, supportive education tailored to the individual. • Durham University — historic university dating back to 1832. • Edge Hill University — award-winning 160-acre Lancashire campus near Liverpool and Manchester. • Imperial College London — specialist community in science, engineering, medicine and business. • Kingston University London — diverse and multi-cultural, with 4,000+ international students from 140+ countries. • Lancaster University — beautiful parkland campus in north west England. • Liverpool Hope University — over 175 years of history. • Royal Holloway, University of London — founded over 170 years ago. • The University of Edinburgh — founded in 1583, one of six ancient UK universities. • The University of Manchester — rich heritage stretching back to 1824. • University of Dundee — mission to transform lives through sustainability, design and well-being. • University of Kent — strong choice for students looking to sharpen their skills and advance their career.
