The FCDO's Country Based Staff (CBS) perform varied, interesting and skilled work across the UK's overseas network — supporting daily operations of Embassies, High Commissions, Consulates and offices in over 160 countries. CBS roles may sit with the FCDO, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) or other British Government Departments. All vacancies are recruited locally and governed by the local employment law of the country where the role is based. The FCDO operates an agile delivery model, so post-holders may be asked to undertake other reasonable duties from time to time.
