Professor Jason Arday, youngest Black Cambridge professor, dies aged 41

Professor Jason Arday, who became the youngest Black person appointed to a professorship at the University of Cambridge, has died at the age of 41.

<p>Professor Jason Arday, who became the youngest Black person to be appointed a professor at the University of Cambridge, has died aged 41.</p><p>His death comes shortly after his resignation from the University of Cambridge, following allegations of plagiarism in his PhD and questions raised about aspects of his academic record. The University had been investigating the allegations.</p><p>Professor Arday was found unresponsive at an address in Battersea, London, on Friday, 14 August. Police have said that his death was unexpected but is not being treated as suspicious.</p><p>His death is deeply unfortunate, particularly at such a young age. May all who knew him be comforted during this difficult time.</p>
